Hi all,

new TDI engines, complete but without any electronics are $3000US. They have a web site someone posted a week or three ago. You'll still need a donor-mobile for the wiring/misc, so you may as well get the engine there too and know that it goes together. I'd bet $5K out the door.

FWIW I was just quoted some Subaru low mileage engine prices (West coast), complete with all the trimmings....$4K for a 2.2, $4.5K for 2.2Turbo, $5.5K for a 2.5Outback. Some of these engines have under 5K miles, all under say 30K. These are CDN dollars, so take 1/3 off for US funds. These people are nuts in my mind, junkyards here want $1500-2500 for complete <50K mile engines here. I just bought one :) BAd news.... the 2.5l engines are being bought by homebuilt aircraft builders, they may have deeper pockets than we do :(

bye, Tim
