Midas lifetime warranties cover only the muffler, nothing else. And to honor the warranty, they require that the entire system pass their safety inspection. So, if you pipes are marginal, they will often not honor the muffler warranty unless you agree to have them fix the entire system. That said, I have a Midas muffler on my 87 Westy and it seems to be of reasonable quality and performance. But I'm going elsewhere this Spring when I need to replace the pipes to ensure that I get the best quality I can find.
