the best way to go is by Ro-Ro (for Roll on Roll off): they are generally used by larger rigs, but I've seen other vehicles on them quite often. a friend of mine works for Lloyds shipping, and recommends the ships from the netherlands - because they have the best food. there are, of course, passenger cabins, just keep in mind that your fellow passengers will almost all be truckers!
