A while back I queried the list for help with my deep cycle battery because it was not holding a charge for any length of time. I was told that the Propane Alarm System is constantly drawing power from the deep cycle. So I removed that fuse. But the battery simply died on me. I am sure it sat on the dealers lot for quite a while unused. So I replaced it. Now all is humming, power in the camping equipment all the time. Since my ex-'87 Westy had propane but no alarm, I am going to leave the alarm system off until I actually use the propane. It is quite easy to slip the alarm fuse in and out. My thanks to those who responded, directed me where and why to look, taught me more about the electronics (I also had help from my son who lay on the bed with a multi-meter, mulling over his current high school physics lessons, probing and switching, and came up with good answers), and in the end solved my problems.
