When the oil pump failed on my Eagle Talon, I saw the idiot light come on and the oil pressure gauge drop to zero. Sure, it could have been a dual sender failure, but that's unlikely. Shut off the engine, had her towed and all was well (warranty at the time even paid for the oil pump).
