I am a graphic designer for the scale model industry. Lettering as on the Westfalia pop-top would be easy to make in 1:24 scale. This is the type of work I do all day, although most of my work is for six model train manufacturers, I also do the same type of work for a company that makes collectible toy trucks. If there is enough interest, I can create art and then make some "water-activated" clear base decals in two or three colors. The problem with going to the sign shops for pressure-sensitive decals, is that there is a lot of "bulk" to the paper or vinyl that they use, however it probably wouldn't be an unacceptable alternative. Those interested in my suggestion should contact me directly.
