I've been dreading getting smogged since rebuilding top end of our '90, but time was running out (notice arrived just after I disassembled the engine), I wanted time to fix if it didn't pass, so I took it in today. It passed easily (Calif. smog check II). HC level was 5ppm at idle and high RPM, CO was negligible. Whew!! I had been particularly worried since I had a hidden loose ground wire for about a week, thought I might have killed the Cat. Not really wanting to gloat, but the reports of Vanagons not passing really had me worried. I would have been sick if I had gone to the trouble and expense of the rebuild and not passed. What a relief! Dan Fuller |
