The shift kit won't necessarily make your Vanagon shift any easier--it's
designed to decrease the throw distance between 2nd and 3rd. I have found
two things that made my shifting easier:
1. clean and lube all of the bushings on the shift rod as well as the ball
and socket joint that attaches the linkage to the tranny.
2. replace your tranny oil with a good synthetic such as Redline
I did this on my syncro two years ago and it still shifts like a dream.
Doesn't cost much either.
