Stebro is currently designing a stainless steel exhaust system for Vanagons including syncros. It was supposed to be available at the end of last year but it's still not available. I've been in touch with a rep and will inform the list when this goody is available. Here's what the rep has to say: We are currently prototyping for the water-cooled models, including Syncro. We expect to start to produce in November. Pricing not yet determined, but *significantly* less than factory prices. Photos? - our system will look almost exactly like the factory system, except for better craftsmanship. Performance? - using our muffler, you can expect some increase in engine efficiency: gas mileage and/or power. Materials? - type 409 stainless steel tubing and muffler, type 304 flanges. Warrantee? - lifetime.
