I did this. But I had a diesel vanagon and a rabbit Gti as the donor. As long as the vanagon is water cooled there are no significant differences. Here is a list of diesel parts you will need: bell housing or whole transmission diesel oil pan diesel oil pump pickup diesel flywheel/clutch diesel engine mounts (alum castings and steel tube) diesel exhaust manifold (can make up custom or use twin tube dasher) I used the diesel exhaust manifold and the stock diesel transmission. while these are not the optimum parts it did get the job done is only a week end. Getting the fuel injection stuff, electrical and plumbing took another month. |
