My 1981 Eurovan Holdsworth Villa conversion , AKA Pooh is still undergoing repairs. Brake light now OK after replacement pressure switch. Right hand carburettor replaced - now drives a lot smoother. I said that this week would be the pain barrier - new exhaust (muffler), tail pipe and Heat Exchangers and heater cables. My local garage, Avon Autopoint received the parts that I ordered from Just Kampers only to find that more bits are needed and a different set of heat exchangers are required. (The heater cables, exhaust and tail pipe are all correct.) Just Kampers had supplied the standard parts, however one of the Pooh's previous owners had 'modified' the exhaust system and the heater control box and other parts are missing. At least that explains the horrible smell of exhaust fumes in the cab and also why the heater controls do not work. My thanks go to 'Old Paul' at Just Kampers at Farnborough. He was able to identify the correct parts over the phone after speaking to Paul at Avon Autopoint (Just Kampers also have a 'Young Paul'). The parts will be shipped to the garage for next Monday and with luck we will be to take Pooh on holiday for the first time on April 3rd. Fingers and toes crossed! |
