The heads are leaking. I could just get the heads done, but I think a whole new engine would be a better bet. Then the person who buys it would have better peace of mind. So my questions are: 1) Generally, would a prospective buyer be more interested in a van they could fix themselves (as is, knowing the head gasket problem) or would people be more interested in a van with a new engine and a 1 year, 12K warranty? (realizing that the price would be $3K higher with the new engine) 2) What is a good price for the van? I though $10K would be a good price for the good condition it's in (including a new engine), but maybe that's off. 3) Is anyone on (or off) the list interested in buying the van?
I'd to talk to any prospective owners before I have the new engine put in. --Dave |
