Hi volks, Thanks for your help, folks. This is what I needed- a reality check, especially on the oil/engine flushing issue. Duh, flushing is no good with hydraulic lifters. Thanks for the Slick 50 warnings, too. One thing I failed to mention in my first posting was the fact that I replaced the water pump 1K ago, with a German one. The suggestion about keeping a spare was good, though- you never know! I especially appreciate the references for good mechanics in your area. Thanks! :) Sam
