This raised a question for me. I've got a 83.5 Westy which does not have the plastic air vents. I had thought the vents in the later model buses were more substantial--in that the let more air through. Sounds like from this and other posts by Sean and Chris they're more of a pressure equalizer.

The point is I'd like a way to let air out the back of the bus when the front windows are open in summer. It seems like the circulation would be much better with kick out rear windows. One would be difficult to open and close because it's blocked by the wardrobe closet in my Westy. But on my sister's Quest mini-van (A Van Called Quest) the rear-most kick-out windows are electric. That's got me thinking.....

Do any Vanagons have kick out rear windows. And, if so, does anyone have thoughts on whether circulation would actually be improved?

It just feels like the bus works like a wind sock with the front windows open.

And while I have A/C, I mean c'mon, isn't that 1.9 liter working hard enough? (BTW DPO put in new engine at 103,000)

TIA Jeff 83.5 Westy
