It's a fact that the West Coast is bus heaven. It's a noteworth sight when I see another westy (or should I say mid-westy?) here in St. Louis. I think one reason is that the Midwest has extreme temperatures both summer and winter, so VW never got a foothold in the market when their buses had neither heat nor AC. In later years, when buses had more creature comforts, they didn't have a customer base to sell them to. This lack of buses also translates to no parts available at your local FLAPS......... Bill |
