Too many keys on a key ring is frequently the demise of one's ignition siwtch. The more keys you have on your VW ring, the heavier the load swinging and bobbing on the end of a 1.5" lever, with the entrance to your ignition switch acting as a fulcrum. the electrical portion at the base gets bashed up after a while.

Reduce your keys and never suffer this fate again.
