Subject: Pop Top help? & New Tires

Hello,

First let me say I had no idea what I was getting into when I bought my '90 Westie two weeks ago. I had always dreamed of owing one but never imagined what a large family of like minded Vanagon & Bus lovers there were out there (on this list and beyond.) What have I gotten myself into?

I would like to know what is recommended to bring the pop top plastic back to life. Mine is (red color) faded from the California sun. I have tried a small patch on top with Armor All but I know that it is beyond that.

Also I am looking for a price on new "Westfalia" Stickers for that top after it comes back with lots of lovin.

I am also interested in tires, my local Michelin dealer says that the 205 70 R14 MXL are no longer made. I do a lot of highway driving and some Bay Area wet weather. What are the new choices?

Thanks in advance for the responses.

Dave Thayer '90 Westfalia Multivan dst7979@jps.net

Thanks in advance for your help
