I have had a query on my '80 with the busted trans
and in-pieces engine from someone with a tranny
from a '79.


Is it a simple R&R or (more likely) what differences
are there to contend with?


The axles and CV's at the outboard (wheel) side
need to be from the Vanagon, but are the CV's the same?


Anything else worth noting of the merits/drawbacks of fitting
a '79 tranny into a '80?
