Jeff,

I know a guy who has an '81 that has a '76 motor that he put in. What he did was transfer the AFC fuel injection from the previous Vgon engine- he has little experience with FI, and wanted to play it safe. He also kept the original tin in there. Everything else is the same.

I assume you won't be installing the A/C compressor. Make sure that if the '80 had A/C, that you patch up the hole in the tin that is left by the absence of the compressor. Duct tape won't happen- he tried it. Just rivet some aluminum in there, but do something, or else you will run hot.

For future reference, if any listees want to put a '76 or '77 Type IV into a Vgon, yes, you CAN do your valves. :)
