Unless you have a few spare windshields around let a professional do it. They will not charge much. I have put in (and broken a few) windshields my self and will only do it again if I absolutely have too. Yes, a new gasket is almost a must. glass guys can kick out the old windshield but most like to cut into the old one and then just lift out the old glass.
