TBill,

I have an '84- not much difference, in my model anyway, from the '83.5- and my motor still runs great with 30K on my rebuild, so I don't feel comfortable past 60, especially uphill, where I do 50- my exhaust valves mean a lot to me. However, besides the bus, I'm used to driving subcompacts, so the bus feels steady in my hands, and catching truck drafts do not scare me, on the condition that I know what's ahead of the truck- Vgons have great brakes, but who knows if the truck's brakes are better. At night, it's easy to tell what's on the road- assuming it's a car, not a deer. Don't EVER catch a truck draft in overcast or rainy weather.

Trucks down my way tend to do 70-75, so that's what I do on the occasion that I do catch a draft. Much less strain on the Wasserboxer.

Sam
