'87 GL: She won't crank. Tried to start her the other day and got one crank and I stopped. Then I tried again and only "click." I tried the jumpstart bit, etc., but no dice.

I think I found what I believe to be the solenoid...to the left and behind the AFM? I see one of 2 male connectors use and that one appears to be pretty loose (rusted? ...can't see).

I poked around in the Muir book and tried the trick of banging on it with the hammer, but no difference. My wife was there the whole time with the other car running and the jumpers ready... still no start.

I also tried the stuck starter trick of 3rd gear and pushing her backwards.

So...what's the easiest way to get at this beast? Take out the AFM? From below? What's a new solenoid run? I might as well replace it since it looks pretty dingy.

Thanks,

-Karl
