new SA vans are rear engine "Vanagon" style vans. see them at:

as far as swappin the lame waterboxer for the more reliable audi engine, yes, you can do it with a SA bellhousing...i just wanted to know if they offered the automatics too. i'm thinkin about putting an audi turbo 5 into my '84 van which is an automatic, and need to know if i can get a 5cyl bellhousing for a automatic.
