Excuse my ignorance, but why do most people talk only of Subaru when planning to swap engine ? Is Subaru engines the only ones to fit the Vanagon ? How does one know if such or such engine fits the Vanagon ? Lots of people are complaining about the Wasser boxer...Other than leaking, what is wrong with this engine?

What does TDI stands for ?

Is Subaru a german company ?

How much $ are we talking about here (swapping engine) ?

THANK YOU
