I'm back from Cannon Beach. It was a great trip and the weather just fine. We had the camping ground for ourselves as we were off-season...It is too much of a touristic place for me though...By the way, CannonBeach is the name of the town...

It was our first-ever camping trip in the van for my family and I, and we loved it...especially with the Drive-away tent attached. We could put all of our stuff in the tent and keep the van relatively empty. By the way, this tent originally conceived for breadloafs fits the Vanagons almost perfectly except for the small hooks that are supposed to attach somewhere under the van..so use your imagination to have the bottom part of the tent attached under the van...

The van behaved properly except for a couple of times when there was intermittent miss on highway driving at or around 60 mph.( at the beginning of highway driving only then disappear). It did it on the way up and on the way back but just 2 or 3 times and has never caused the van to stop altogether. I freaked, that's all. I don't have the modified airflow meter installed ( Part # 025 906 302 ) but the PO had a 22 microfarad tantalum capacitor installed, which supposedly eliminates vibration resonance. So my questions are

1- Is the modified harness sold by VW eliminates totally intermittent miss or only the jerking or bucking of the vehicule caused sometimes by these intermittent miss ? 2- What else could cause these intermittent miss ? ( O2 sensor recently changed and tuned up last fall...)?

3- When gas tank close to empty. I can hear what I think is the gas pump working...Is this normal? The noise stops when I fill up the tank.

4-By the way, I have a brown one-place middle seat for sale, with swivel base and arm rests. I paid 450$CDN for it last fall but do not need it anymore. Anybody interested ?

Thanks to all who gave me advices on Cannon Beach ...
