Hopefully one of our trusty parts dealers on the list will chime in with a source. I need one too! Just can't pay VW that kind of money. I have fabricated my own out of galvanized pipe hanger material. It seems to work fine, but is not quite a heavy duty as the original. If you want to make one, go to the plumbing supply dept of the hardware store and get a roll of pipe hanger strap. I used a bolt and locknut to make the top shaft, then wrapped the pipe hanger strap around the bolt shaft, fastened the strap together around it with screws and nuts, then put it in place and pulled the remaining strap around the muffler and cut it to an appropriate length. Found the closest hole in the strap to the other mounting place, enlarged the hole enough to fit the bolt then tightened it into place. It holds the muffler quite tightly. Before I came up with this idea, I used a couple of giant hose clamps to strap the muffler to the rear header pipe. But those clamps just didn't last long.

If you find a cheap source for these clamps, please post!
