In my kit: 1. A supportive and adventurous SO. 2. Twice as much money and half as many clothes as I expect to need. BIG!!! VISA/MC card limit. 3. A cell phone usable anywhere, regardless of cost. 4. A "Silver" AAA membership card. The extra cost of the Silver membership above the regular is about $40.00. The towing benefit is substantially higher than that of the regular.membership, especially if you stipulate the towing on a flat bed of your Westy from point of breakdown is vast West Texas to a VW-competent shop. If you are a Silver member of the Auto Club of Southern California , policy includes a medical evacuation benefit, a singular consideration if you must be transported by air ambulance to your SC home as a result of an accident, in Alaska, for instance. Some state AAAs do not offer the benefit. 5. The usual Unca Joel list of items, including tools, spares and books, which accumulation takes up all the space under the rear seat in my van.
