Austin A40's (and of course all cars that used them, including MG's) had a
problem with starters sticking.  So what did the British engineers do? They
lengthened the shaft so it stuck out of the front of the starter, and
squared it so you could put a wrench on it when it jammed.  (Is British
Engineer an oxymoron?)
