Subject: Cool potential wheels for Vanagon

See? The chatter about the new Beetle has Vanagon connections, maybe.

I, too, saw a new bright red Beetle today, shod in really nice alloy wheels. A VW with five-lug-wheels again! I don't know yet if they will fit, but they are 16" wheels, five lug bolts, and all bets are that VW used the same wheels as the EV -- which *do* fit.

Just think, in another twenty years the wrecking yards will be full of 'em.

BTW, the new beetle is really nice, and it's "as cute as a bug"! Lots of amenities. We will definately buy one once the rush is over. Local dealer is currently adding $1000 to the sticker -- for local residents only. Apparently, dealers in LA are offering other dealers quite a sum to ship their quotas south. They are quoting a real high price for out-of-towners.

Malcolm
