In a message dated 98-03-22 21:25:02 EST, you write:

<< Here's the problem, just checked the compression today:

1 100psi 2 100psi 3 150psi 4 155psi

My book says that the min is 118psi with a maximim variance of 44 psi between cylinders. The rings have only about 10,000 miles on them. Anyone out there have any suggestions. >>

Bad news, whatever the cause. My guesses, somewhat in order:

Pistons in #1 & #2 installed upside-down, and have worn out the cylinder walls Ring gaps not spaced correctly on installation Broken rings Burnt Valves/Bad seats Cracked head??

Use your trusty vaccume gauge to check whether it is valve related. My guess is, it is not.
