I know this may be a foolish thing to post on here, but I'm trying to
find out how to illuminate my '81 Vanagon L's interior. I'd like to have
something rigged to the door switches on the driver and passenger doors
for the cabin area and something triggered by the sliding door for the
rear compartment. I know pretty much how to do the wiring, but does
anyone have any ideas as to light fixtures.that can be run off 12v ?

Try a Marine store.  I noticed a local one had at least a dozen different

12V lights.
