I found a VW-only junkyard in Northern MD with eight Vanagons. The owner wasn't there but I was told by an employee that these were all parts cars for his VW restoration business. The employee didn't know what the owner would be willing to part with, but I left my phone number and he's supposed to call. Anyway, I'm curious about putting one of the later model padded dashes into my '84. Are there any differences in dashboards as far as mounting and fitting through the model years?

One of the more interesting gems was an old Vanagon Westy with the woodgrain cabinets. It was all there, including poptop and even the dashboard mounted cup holder. The rear table and arm was still there as well. I'm waiting for his call and will let the list know if these Vanagons are available as parts cars or not. Didn't notice if there were any diesels, but I will ask when I get the call. If he's willing to sell anything, I'll post to the list what is available. .

Cheers!
