Any experience with this problem? = > Thanks. > If the motor goes then the relay is not going to be your problem. It's possible that you have really bad connections somewhere in the system. If they check out OK, then yeah, your motor probably just needs some lubrication. I had to do this on my Karmann Ghia recently. I removed the motor and took it apart, cleaning up the old dried grease and reassembling with what's called marine grease (found it at a FLAPS). I had also been recommended distributor cam lube but was unable to find it.

Your problem will lie in the linkage or motor or both. I took apart the linkage after removing the motor from the frame and carefully paid attention to how everything went together, and greased all bushings.

Then I took the motor completely apart and inspected it. Not finding a burned armature or worn brushes, I cleaned up the old grease and put it all back together with marine grease.

Teh grease you want to be thick enough not to run but not so thick that it slows the wipers down in the cold weather. Marine grease is just about th eright consistency for that.

Good luck!
