Subject: Cluch housing removal on a syncro
Comments: To: vanagon@vanagon.com

Hello- I am trying to determine if it is possible to remove the clutch housing on a syncro tranny without removing the driveshafts (and thus marking the depth of axle flanges, I believe it was the axle flanges, and the like). I cannot really tell what is necessary from the bentley. I am hoping one would need to just remove the six bolts that hold the housing (bellhousing?) on to the tranny as it appears one needs to remove the clutch housing in order to replace the input main shaft...
