What you saw, I think, is the VW LT..comes in various sizes and weights..the biggest being the LT 35 (3.5 tonne)....front engine rear drive....uses either the 2.0 "audi,924" or the D-24, 2.4L diesel "6" or, my favorite the D-24T..6 cylinder turbo-diesel...uses rabbit rods pistons etc..Rode in one in the UK.....16 passenger LT, hti 80 mph at the bottom of the ramp to the M-1 !....like it so much that I bought the 760 GLE Volvo that uses the same engine.....and no, it *won't* go in the vanagon...I measured......(might fit in my land-rover tho....!)
