Well that SUCKS! I had a guy down here BURN me last year for a Syncro
Trans too. He gave me this song and dance about having a bad one,
needed to pull it out etc and he wqould return the core.
Well turns out he had it on a Bench at Freds Garage, hey told him it
would be X# of dollars to rebuild it due to the fact it wad DESTROYED.
He said he'd find a used one and have them install it.
I sold him an AWSOME used one I had I"d driven it about 1000 miles and
knew it to be perfect.
He picked it up, I told him about the problems that he and his friend
would have taking it out since he was telling me HE was R&R ing the
trans. I spent about an HOUR with the 2 of them.
A Week Later he comes back with a Syncro Trans for a core, I refund
his $ and he's on his way. This is a Saturday. On Monday my Trans guy
tears open the core and ALL of the parts were just laying inside of the
core!!
The core was USELESS, the only thing NOT destroyed are the Housings!
I phoned him up and let him know that I thought he had ripped me off
and that i was Unhappy to say the least. He said he brought me a core
back so he did his part. Not that he brought me a Garbage core JUST a
core.
To let the Plot thicken;
I called Freds Garage, he filled me in on the fact that the customer
had been such a problem too that he had done the R&R of the trans, tore
down the trans to inspect and installed the USED trans for the customer
and the bill was going to be $500.00 for ALL of that work (A Great Deal
if you asked me).
The customer informed Freds that he was ONLY going to pay him $300.00
for the work and that that would be a reasonable amount.
As I was told by Freds, they informewd the customer that he didn't owe
them any $ and to "Never Darken Their Doorstep Again!!!!!!!!!!
Some people in this world are Unbeliveable! This Customer was one of
those, The person that "Helped Themselves" to your trans is one of them
too. Wouldn't surprise me if the trans I sold had a problem and it was
the same A Hole? He lives in Nor Cal, I wanted to Let the list know
what an ASS this person is but i decided to let it ride at that time.
Now seeing the post by Roy it brought up a bunch of the feelings I
have toward people that take advantage of others who are mearly trying
to help others who can use the help we have to offer.
I started Volks-Motorsports to help out the people across the World
that DON'T have the access to partsd OR Knowledge that I do. I have 13
other VW people that i work with on a daily basis. I have more VW
Knowlege around me than some could every imagine.
Not to rant on a Monday AM but people that RIP OFF others WILL get
theirs sooner or later. I was raised to treat others the way YOU want
to be treated and those who don't understand this or don't live by this
GET Theirs.
