The older version of Aluma-Seal was dry fine aluminum flakes mixed with some sort of binder material. It worked by settling into the leaky area and plugging the hole. The liquid stuff appears to have the same kind of flakes in a glycol solution, so I gather it works in pretty much the same way.

Since the steering gear is not fixed yet, I can't actually drive the car, but in over an hour of idling, I saw the leak taper off and stop with full pressure on the system. I will have to check this again after a day or two to be sure, but the first indications are that it works good..

I would expect that if there are small orifices in the system, there might be a clogging problem, but I have not seen any such locations in our van...
