I have a similar thumping problem in my 91. Although, it occurs all the time and when I am going straight and is most prevalent when cruising. How do I tell which CV joint is causing the problem?

Another question. I also have a wining sound coming from what sounds like the transmission. This sound is only present when I am on the gas. If I pull my foot off the gas the sound disappears. Does anyone have an idea of what this might be?

Thanks

Dan Moy danmoy@cynet.net
