I use Valvoline non phosphate coolant and have had no problems since using it. I don't know if this has been said before but I will state the obvious. If AUTOBAHN (VW) antifreeze is the only thing that VW recommends be used, isn't it strange that the head leaks occur while VW itself uses this stuff? I know that there are other processes at work here but VW should drop the charade. Tom Czerniak 87 Westy 12,000 miles on JBWeld
