The pinout is somthing that you need to check. Install it as shown, and keep an eye on the gauge the first time you turn it on. If you don't have movement of the fuel gauge rightaway. Check your installation. Also be aware that the case on this component is not insulated. I would insulate it to insure there isn't a problem, at the heat sink.
