If this is a condition that has crept up on you over time then I have two thoughts:

Vacuum leak,

or

too-rich mixture setting.

Check for vacuum leaks first. First, do a visual inspection for any obvious loose, cracked or missing hoses. You might even remove the bigger hoses and check then out by blowing throught them while plugging the far end. Hoses that _look_ OK can still leak. Remove and check the large intake hose to the throttle body too; it's hard to check this one any other way. If nothing turns up, then step two is to do a more thorough test. I like using soapy water and a compressor since it's safer than using flamable gases. Replace any suspect hoses and/or vacuum lines. You might even go so far as to use hose clamps on some of the connections.
