Upon inspection after disassembly by my machinist (Scott), even though the psiton/liners were toasted, the bottom end was in surprisingly excellent shape. Rebuilt the Rods, polished the Crank, camshaft was like new. Scott commented that it appeared to him that without better knowledge of the history of the core, I would say the engine had less than 30k on it. Case was practically flawless, just needed a good hot-tanking and cleaning. Scott owns a 86 Wasser and in addition to doing the engine on it himself, he's had some wasser experience himself. ------------------------------------------------------- Joshua also says: >P.S., a note on Brazilian P&C's. Hopefully I won't regret this. ------------------------------------------------------ You shouldn't have any problems. My 2.1 has been using Brazil COFAP Piston/Liners for the past 22k miles without any problems so far. I didn't have the void you mention, but I was pretty satisfied about the quality of construction of my P&C's.
