Patrick,

You're right about most of the VW tactics, BUT. This is mostly true when dealing with a VW Dealer.

If a person has a GOOD source for VW parts that ARE availible aftermarket. The parts ARE time tested to ensure that the product is as good as the OE product too. Then there's NO Reason to use the Dealer for these parts.

This is the EXACT REASON I started Volks-Motorsports. I work in a VW Only repair shop. One of the largest in our area and people come from miles to have US service their cars because of reputation and our commitment to the customer.

I've been at the Volks Cafe for 8 Years. I too worked as a Tech 8-10 hours a day turning wrenches. I got a computer a few years back and started searching things that interested ME. I found the "Vanagon List". I too found that there were a # of people complaining that they had to wait 3 weeks for the "Special Order" part to come in and the were going to have to pay X# of dollars for it!

HUMMMM, I had 10 of that peticular part on the shelf 2 blocks away at the shop, I could Red Label it to them and they'ld have had it tomorrow and still saved the about a 3rd of what they WERE paying for it. Well I saw the need to HELP those people that don't have access to parts and experience in the way that I do. I have 6 VW Techs that work in house that have such a wide range of knowledge between them that there are many things that they've Not seen of fixed themselves.

As far as the bus filler neck hose you refered to I have thoise, in stock, I sell them for $17.00. NOT trying to sell you one just letting you know WHO's got the info and the access to get many peoples VW needs taken care of.

There are many sources that you can get parts from, Mags, online suppliers and the dealer. There are_few_ that will go the extra mile to ENSURE that their customer is happy AND taken care of.

Hope all have a good weekend and that this doesn't rub anybody in the wrong manner but I'm tired of the parts BS on the list.

I have this for this price or you could've gotten it for this or......

Get a grip people, contact the people that have the products, see who get's back to you promptly with a good price and has it in stock ready to ship and quit complaining that, "this person or that person hasn't responded to my e-mail".

It's Friday:O
