Thanks to all of you who responded personally (and any who responded gen.
delivery) to my query.  All are good, inexpensively-executed (barring a crazed
ECU) suggestions which I hope my friend will go for!  I hate to see someone
unhappy with his vehicle like this.  I will keep the list posted as to what
happens.
