I recently discovered that the front driver's-side stabilizer link on my 81 Vanagon was broken. You know, the small bar which connects the stabilizer bar to the lower control rod. Is this a common problem?

Now that I have all the repair parts (thanks to Bus Depot & Burlington VW) -- stabilizer link, upper an lower bushings, washers, nut -- how should they be installed? Bentley doesn't cover this well, except for their illustration.

Any help would be appreciated.
