I don't know, Bob. I've got an 83.5 auto westy and I've just checked my records for a couple of long distance trips. High was 21.9 mpg (tail wind), low 16.1 (nasty head wind), tend to average 18 - 19 on trips. And I travel faster than you do. >

Check the tail pipe and see if there is any carbon build up.
