My '88 GL clutch chatters too...intermittently, I am convinced that I willl find the source in the forward motor (tranny?) mount. When the clutch chatter began appearing so did alot of driveline lash or a feeling of "rubber banding" after a sudden accel or decel. I can actually feel the worn rubber mount pounding against the body during a sudden speed change. Both of us may have less than perfect clutches, but I'll bet that the imperfections will dissappear with solid motor mounts. I'll let you know.

Gary
