My '73 westy has the canvas childs cot... I reinforced the two rails with a piece of 1/2" copper pipe duct taped to the rail... my 35 lb. Beagle loves sleeping up there when we go anywhere... lays with his head on the forward rail watching the world go by outside the windshield... during the summer between trips he whines and cries if I don't let him in there at least once a day. I replaced one of the carriage bolts holding the side cabinet to the wall with a similar sized eye-bolt, then his leash is attached to that so he doesn't roam too far. He'll sleep in the Westy all day if I let him...

I also have a three year old nephew who comes to visit and wants to eat all his meals out in the camper, my sister-in-law is not real thrilled when he crawls up into the cot and sleeps next the dog.. <<G>>
