Jackson, WY has some pretty serious temperature extremes (on the winter end), yet there are quite a number of buses around, air-cooled and water-cooled. This might have a lot to do with the transient population of the area, but I've seen 30-40 permanent buses that I recognize around town. I think that's quite a number for a cowboy town with a population of under 5,000. (Of course, when it's 20 below zero, I take my girlfriends 4-runner :)
