Well, today my 86 Syncro missplaced its forth gear while traveling home from work. I was going about 65, when I lost the gear, with an almost Poping/woosh sort of sound, and without any nasty metal noises. I pulled over and realized I still had first, second and third, so I limped home, maxing third at about 50 MPH. So, anyone have similar senerios with gears vanishing? How do Syncro trannys usually die? Anyone care to guess what happened? (Todd Hill-you seem versed in the inner workings of transmissions, any clue?) Anyone selling a tranny? Thanks, Raul Cisneros 86 Syncro "Gimp" Nyack, Ny |
